Tryan and Corkill bested Begay and Cooper and Driggers and Nogueira in final ERA competition.

If you're surprised that Clay Tryan and Jade Corkill won the first ever Elite Rodeo Athletes Premier Tour World Championship, you've been living under a rock for the last year.

Tryan and COrkill

Tryan and Corkill have made use of their time outside of Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association competition, winning nearly everywhere they've gone--including RodeoHouston, the HorkDog, the Chris Cox Lifeline Challenge, the Pikes Peak or Bust Cinch Shootout and the the USTRC National Finals of Team Roping Open Prelim, plus winning second at the George Strait Team Roping Championship and the USTRC National Finals of Team Roping Open. They also won the first two rounds of the ERA World Championships and the average there after battling it out all season with Derrick Begay and Clay O'Brien Cooper.

While Corkill stayed aboard Caveman, his bay gelding who's won an AQHA/PRCA Heel Horse of the Year title, Tryan counted on a new mount in Johnson for ERA competition. Most of the setups have been extremely small, and Clay's signature horse, Dew, runs too hard for them, the Montana header said.

Stay tuned for more from the ERA World Championships.
