Lari Dee Guy checks in from the Reno All-Girl Team Roping.

We're getting ready to rope today at the All-Girl in Reno. Dang, there's 107 tough teams entered. Hope T. is team 55 with our friend Shadee Langston, and I'm 58 with Annette Stahl.

I guess you could say we picked some bad heelers. We both know how lucky we are to have those two behind us. And I hope everyone who ropes today knows how lucky we are to have a roping that's going to pay this much to go to. These ropings, that showcase women on such a big stage, are what our industry needs. We get a shot at big money, even cattle, great prizes, and good coverage in the media. On that note, shoutout to Tammy Ellerman, who showed that she could rope with the best of them in winning the Reno Rodeo Invitational yesterday and taking home $100,000!

My biggest hope is that there are some little girls thinking about starting to swing a rope like their moms, dads, brothers, sisters, etc... and they see us out here winning saddles and thousands and thousands of dollars, and they decide they really ought to practice and go for it. It's events like this that make a difference in women in sports, and then, years down the road, make an even bigger impact when hundreds or even thousands more women are in the sport because watching their female heroes inspired them to go for it.

So, time for the ride in in Reno. I'll check in and let you all know how we do in a bit. Have a blessed day everyone.
