So when the setup couldn’t have been any more perfect for Beers’ hard-scoring, hard-running horse, Tevo, the team cashed in for their biggest payday of the year and one of the biggest of their careers—$17,302 for being 27.7 on three head at Cheyenne.
“You get to these big outdoor arenas, and he’s able to catch the steers faster and turn them faster than other guys,” Cooper says. “That’s the explanation (for why they win in the summer) that makes the most sense.”
